Coffee, Latin America, Filter
Stone Fruit, Juicy Body, Black-tea Aroma, Red Grape, Sweet Long Finish
Spanish for “Plains of Guava”, is named after the abundance of guava trees in the region. The Donado family has been producing coffee for almost two decades. Due to its high elevation and terrain steepness, this region was not traditionally thought to be agriculturally viable. Benjamin Donado has overcome the odds by not only producing coffee, but also continuously improving his crop quality. Culminating in the fresh release of the exotic SL28 single varietal micro lot.
Endemic to Kenya, the SL28 varietal is descendent of a native Bourbon varietal selected from Tanzania. It is extensively propagated due to its excellent cup quality, high yield and resilience. This results in the SL28 being the most widely planted variety in Kenya today. With the advancement in agricultural science, this varietal is also being adapted by various parts of the coffee belt, exemplified by this micro lot from Plan Del Guayabo of the Donado family.
